Sphaeralcea ambigua var. rugosa

This rugged desert mallow thrives in hot, dry conditions and requires very little supplemental water once established in the landscape. Plant in full sun to part shade with excellent drainage and avoid overwatering, which is the most common way to harm this plant. It rewards neglect with masses of salmon-orange blooms attractive to native pollinators.
