Sporobolus anglicus, commonly known as common cordgrass, is a hardy perennial grass that thrives in coastal, estuarine, and wetland environments with consistently moist to waterlogged soils. It is extremely low maintenance once established and requires little to no fertilisation due to its ability to fix nitrogen in intertidal zones. This plant is best suited to outdoor rain gardens, coastal restoration projects, or pond margins rather than typical home gardens.
