Spreading phlox is a low-growing, mat-forming native perennial that carpets rocky slopes and alpine gardens with a profusion of pink, lavender, or white flowers in spring. It thrives in well-drained, gritty soils with part shade to full sun and is an excellent choice for rock gardens, slopes, and ground cover applications. Once established it requires little supplemental watering and needs only light trimming after flowering to maintain its compact, spreading form.
