Springbeauty
Claytonia virginica
Springbeauty is a delightful native spring ephemeral that produces pink-veined white flowers in early spring before disappearing underground by early summer. Plant it in dappled shade under deciduous trees where it will naturalize beautifully over time, forming cheerful colonies. It requires virtually no care once established — just leave the foliage to die back naturally so the corm can store energy for the next season.
