Stiff sedge is a hardy, clump-forming perennial grass native to arctic and subalpine regions, making it an excellent choice for cool, moist garden borders or naturalized wetland edges. It prefers partially shaded spots with consistently moist, acidic soil and tolerates cold temperatures extremely well. Minimal maintenance is needed once established, making it ideal for low-intervention naturalistic plantings.
