Sweet mock orange
Philadelphus coronarius
Sweet mock orange is a low-maintenance deciduous shrub prized for its intensely fragrant white spring blooms. Plant it in a sunny to partly shaded spot with well-drained soil and water regularly during its first season to establish deep roots. Once established it is quite drought-tolerant and only needs light pruning after flowering to keep its shape.
