Symphyotrichum patens var. patens

Spreading Aster is a charming native perennial prized for its delicate lavender-blue flowers that appear in late summer and fall, attracting bees and butterflies. It adapts well to average garden soils in partial to full sun and requires very little supplemental care once established. Deadhead spent blooms to extend the flowering season and cut plants back to the base after the first frost.
