Honey locust is a tough, fast-growing deciduous tree that thrives with minimal care once established in full sun to partial shade. Water young trees regularly for the first two seasons to help roots establish, then reduce watering as the tree becomes drought adaptable. Prune in late winter to remove any dead or crossing branches and to maintain a pleasing shape.
