Triquetrous garlic
Allium triquetrum
Triquetrous garlic is a charming spring-blooming bulb that naturalises readily in shaded or partly shaded spots with moist, well-drained soil. Plant bulbs in autumn at about twice their own depth and water regularly during the growing season, allowing the foliage to die back naturally after flowering. Note that it can spread vigorously by bulb offsets and self-seeding in mild climates, so site it where spreading is welcome.
