True fox sedge is a robust, clump-forming perennial sedge that thrives in moist to wet soils, making it an excellent choice for pond margins, rain gardens, and boggy areas. Plant in part shade to full sun with consistently damp or waterlogged soil; it requires little care once established and will spread gradually to form attractive dense clumps. Its dark brown seed heads provide winter structure and are valuable for wetland wildlife planting schemes.
