Tufted milkwort
Polygala comosa
Tufted milkwort is a charming, low-growing wildflower of European grasslands, bearing clusters of small pink to purple blooms from late spring through summer. It prefers well-drained, calcareous (chalky or limestone) soils in open, sunny to lightly shaded positions, and is an excellent addition to a wildflower meadow or rock garden. Avoid rich, fertilised soils, as this encourages lush foliage at the expense of flowers.
