Turkey oak is a robust, fast-establishing deciduous tree that thrives in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of well-drained soils. Water young trees regularly during their first two seasons, then reduce irrigation as the tree becomes established. Minimal pruning is needed; simply remove dead or crossing branches in late winter.
