Martagon lily is a graceful, woodland-style bulb that produces elegant recurved, spotted flowers in shades of pink, purple, and white on tall stems in early summer. Plant bulbs in autumn in humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial shade, mimicking the dappled light of its native European woodlands. It is slow to establish but long-lived and rewarding once settled, so avoid disturbing the bulbs unnecessarily after planting.
