Utah sweet-vetch is a hardy perennial legume native to the western mountain regions, best suited to well-draining, loamy to sandy soils in full sun or light shade. It fixes atmospheric nitrogen, making it a wonderful companion plant for improving soil fertility with minimal inputs. Water regularly during establishment but reduce frequency once the plant is settled, as it tolerates moderately dry conditions.
