Valeriana excelsa
Valeriana excelsa
Valeriana excelsa, a tall European valerian, is an easy-going perennial best suited to moist, partly shaded spots such as woodland edges or stream banks. It produces fragrant clusters of small pinkish-white flowers in summer that are highly attractive to pollinators. Once established it requires little attention; simply cut back after flowering to encourage tidy regrowth.
