Viviparous sheep's-fescue is a hardy, cool-climate ornamental grass suited to alpine or northern garden conditions with partial shade. It reproduces via tiny plantlets (vivipary) rather than seeds, making it botanically unique and a conversation piece in the garden. Low maintenance once established, it prefers cool, moist, well-drained soils and does not tolerate heat or drought well.
