Wild ackee is a tropical canopy tree native to Caribbean and South American forests, best suited to warm, frost-free climates in USDA zones 10-12. It prefers well-draining, fertile soil with regular moisture and performs well in partial to dappled shade when young. This is a specialty collector's tree rarely found outside of tropical botanical gardens or specialist nurseries.
