Woolly thistle is a striking biennial-looking perennial with large, cobweb-like white woolly flower heads that are highly attractive to pollinators. Plant in a sunny to lightly shaded position in well-drained to average soil and it will largely look after itself. It is best suited to naturalistic or wildflower garden settings where its bold architectural form can be appreciated.
