Wych elm

Wych elm is a hardy, large deciduous tree best suited to gardens, parks, or woodland edges with well-drained to moist soil and at least partial sun. It requires very little intervention once established, needing supplemental watering only during prolonged dry periods in its first few years. Prune lightly in late winter to maintain shape, and watch for signs of Dutch elm disease, though Ulmus glabra has moderate natural resistance.
