Arctostaphylos alpinus

Alpine bearberry is a low-growing, cold-hardy shrub best suited to cool climates, acidic soils, and open or partly shaded positions. It requires little maintenance once established and is an excellent ground cover for rock gardens or naturalistic alpine plantings. Avoid rich soils and overwatering, as this plant is adapted to lean, well-drained conditions.
