Four o'clocks are wonderfully easy-going plants that thrive in full sun to partial shade with moderate watering. They produce fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers in vivid pink, red, yellow, and white that open in the late afternoon and attract pollinators. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings and cut back in autumn; in frost-free climates the tuberous roots will return each year.
