Sabal palmetto, also known as the Cabbage Palmetto, is a hardy and low-maintenance palm that thrives in full sun and tolerates a range of soil conditions including sandy and coastal soils. Water regularly while establishing, but once mature it is moderately drought tolerant and requires little intervention. It is an excellent choice for large landscapes, coastal gardens, or as a statement specimen tree in warm climates.
