Breckland thyme is a hardy, drought-tolerant creeping perennial that thrives in full sun and well-drained, sandy or rocky soil. Water infrequently and avoid overwatering, as it is susceptible to root rot in consistently wet conditions. It makes an excellent ground cover, rock garden plant, or fragrant path edging, and its small purple flowers are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
