Mastic thyme is a compact, aromatic sub-shrub native to the Iberian Peninsula, prized for its strongly scented foliage used in cooking, herbal teas, and traditional medicine. Plant it in well-drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot and water sparingly, as it is adapted to dry Mediterranean conditions. It makes an excellent container herb for patios or sunny windowsills and requires little fertilisation or fuss to thrive.
