Cercocarpus intricatus

Little-leaf mountain mahogany is a slow-growing native shrub adapted to dry, rocky soils of the American Southwest and Great Basin. Once established it needs very little supplemental water and thrives in well-drained, alkaline soils in full sun to part shade. Its feathery seed plumes provide ornamental interest and its dense branching offers valuable wildlife habitat.
