Desert mock orange is a compact, fragrant native shrub that produces intensely sweet-scented white flowers in late spring, making it a wonderful addition to dry western gardens. It is extremely adaptable to poor, rocky, or sandy soils and becomes quite drought tolerant once established with full to partial sun exposure. Minimal pruning after flowering keeps the plant tidy and encourages vigorous blooming the following season.
