Phillyrea angustifolia
False olive is a tough, drought-adaptable evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean region that thrives in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil. Once established, it requires very little supplemental watering and tolerates poor, rocky soils with ease. It makes an excellent low-maintenance hedge or specimen shrub in warm temperate gardens.
