Floating-leaf pondweed
Potamogeton natans
Floating-leaf pondweed is an aquatic perennial that grows naturally in slow-moving or still freshwater, anchoring to muddy substrates with floating leaves that shade the water surface. It is ideal for garden ponds and water features where it helps oxygenate water and reduce algae by competing for nutrients. Thin regularly during the growing season to prevent it from overtaking smaller ponds.
