Scouring rush is a striking, architectural perennial that thrives in moist to wet soils in part shade to full sun, making it an excellent choice for water gardens, pond edges, or consistently moist landscape beds. It can also be grown in containers indoors in bright indirect light if kept consistently moist. Be aware that it spreads by rhizomes and may need containment to prevent it from taking over garden spaces.
