Lesser twayblade is a tiny, highly specialist terrestrial orchid that requires cool, humid, shaded conditions with acidic, moss-rich soil — mimicking its native boreal woodland habitat. It is mycorrhizally dependent and extremely difficult to establish outside of wild-collected or expertly propagated conditions. This plant is not recommended for casual home gardeners and is best appreciated in the wild or specialist orchid collections.
