Pokeweed (Pigeonberry) is a fast-growing, large-statured native perennial that produces dramatic magenta stems and dark berry clusters highly attractive to birds. It thrives in partial shade to full sun with average moisture and is extremely vigorous, self-seeding readily each year. Note that all parts of this plant are toxic to humans and pets, so site it carefully away from children and animals.
