Pigeon's scabious is a delightful cottage-garden perennial producing lavender-blue pincushion flowers that attract bees and butterflies from summer into autumn. It prefers well-drained, alkaline to neutral soil in a sunny to lightly shaded position and is quite drought tolerant once established. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to prolong flowering, and divide every 3-4 years to maintain vigor.
