Pyramid bugle
Ajuga pyramidalis
Pyramid bugle is a compact, upright-growing ground cover that produces striking spikes of blue-violet flowers in spring and is well suited to partially shaded borders and woodland gardens. It is hardier and less spreading than the more common Ajuga reptans, making it a well-behaved choice for smaller spaces. Plant in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil and divide clumps every 2-3 years to keep them healthy.
