Alpine yellow-rattle (Rhinanthus glacialis) is a hemiparasitic annual of alpine meadows that attaches its roots to nearby grasses to obtain nutrients, making it very challenging to cultivate outside its native habitat. It requires cool, nutrient-poor conditions and the presence of suitable host grasses to survive and reproduce. This specialist plant is best appreciated in its natural alpine environment and is rarely available in the nursery trade.
