Yellow-rattle

Yellow-rattle is a fascinating hemi-parasitic annual wildflower that attaches to the roots of grasses, making it an excellent tool for reducing grass vigor in wildflower meadows. It requires sowing into short, established grass in autumn and demands little direct care but does need the right host grasses present to survive. Once established, it self-seeds annually and produces charming yellow flowers that rattle with seeds when ripe.
