Screw-bean

Screw-bean mesquite is a striking desert tree or large shrub recognized by its uniquely twisted, spiral seed pods that have long been used as a food source by indigenous peoples. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant and requires only deep, infrequent watering in the hottest months. Plant in full sun with excellent drainage and give it plenty of space, as it spreads broadly and provides valuable wildlife habitat.
