Topped lavender

Topped lavender (Lavandula stoechas) thrives in full sun with very well-drained, slightly alkaline soil and is highly drought-tolerant once established — perfect for Mediterranean-style or gravel gardens. Water sparingly and avoid waterlogged conditions, which are the most common cause of failure. Trim lightly after the first flush of flowers to encourage a second bloom and maintain a compact, bushy shape.
