Wild custard-apple is a semi-deciduous tropical tree from sub-Saharan Africa that produces sweet, edible yellow fruits and thrives in warm, frost-free climates. Plant in well-draining soil with plenty of sun and water regularly during establishment, tapering off once the tree matures and shows drought resilience. It is best suited for USDA zones 10-12 or large warm conservatories, and benefits from occasional feeding with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season.
