Irish strawberry-tree

The strawberry tree is an attractive evergreen shrub or small tree prized for its simultaneous display of white flowers and red strawberry-like fruits in autumn and winter. Plant in well-drained, acidic to neutral soil in a sheltered spot with partial shade to full sun, and water regularly until established — thereafter it is surprisingly drought tolerant. Minimal pruning is needed; simply remove dead or crossing branches in late spring to maintain a tidy shape.
