Longbract frog orchid
Dactylorhiza viridis
The Longbract frog orchid is a temperamental terrestrial orchid that requires very specific conditions, including cool temperatures, excellent drainage, and a mycorrhizal-rich growing medium. It thrives in partial shade to full sun in rocky or grassy alpine habitats and does not adapt well to typical container growing. This is a specialist plant best suited to experienced alpine or native orchid growers.
