Small bur-reed
Sparganium natans
Small bur-reed is an aquatic or semi-aquatic perennial best grown at the margins of ponds, streams, or water gardens where its roots remain submerged or in saturated soil. It tolerates partial shade and is an excellent native plant for supporting wetland wildlife, particularly waterfowl. Once established, it spreads slowly and requires very little maintenance beyond controlling its spread.
