Ulex baeticus is a spiny, dense gorse shrub native to southern Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, best grown in well-drained soils in a sunny to lightly shaded garden position. It is moderately drought tolerant once established and requires little fertilisation but benefits from a light trim after flowering to maintain shape. This plant is rarely available outside specialist Mediterranean or native plant nurseries and is best suited to warm, dry garden climates.
