Western gorse

Western gorse is a spiny, evergreen shrub native to the Atlantic coasts of Western Europe, valued for its brilliant yellow flowers that bloom in late summer and autumn. It thrives in poor, acidic, well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade, requiring very little maintenance once established. Keep in mind that western gorse is highly flammable and spreads vigorously, so it should be sited carefully and monitored in fire-prone areas.
