Canadian elder

Canadian elder is a vigorous, fast-growing shrub that thrives in moist, partly shaded spots and tolerates a range of soil types. Water regularly to keep the root zone moist, especially during dry spells, and prune back hard in late winter to maintain a tidy shape. It rewards you with large, fragrant flower clusters in summer and heavy crops of dark berries beloved by birds.
