Fragrant orchid

The Fragrant orchid is a terrestrial European wild orchid that requires very specific growing conditions, including nutrient-poor, alkaline, well-draining soil and partial shade — it is not suited to typical pot culture. It grows from underground tubers and enters summer dormancy, so watering must be drastically reduced once foliage yellows. This plant is best appreciated in a naturalized meadow or specialist alpine garden setting and should never be collected from the wild.
